Q. Where can I get more information on your quartz products?
A. Our quality quartz comes from HanStone. Visit their website for more information on the product and how to care for and maintain it. Their maintenance guide can be found here.

Q. I’m going to install granite counters in my kitchen and bathrooms. How do I ensure a consistent look from room to room?
A. If you're purchasing granite for a kitchen - or a whole house - we'll work with you to ensure the slabs you choose come from the same block. When granite is quarried it’s cut out of the earth in large blocks. Those blocks are then cut into slabs. The variation in the grain means that you'll get a more consistent look if you choose slabs that originate from the same block of granite.

Q. Will my kitchen counters have seams?
A. It depends on the size of your countertops. Often, seams are inevitable with kitchen counters. However, our craftspeople take great pride in their work and the seams are usually inconspicuous.

Q. Can I use an under-mounted sink with quartz, granite or marble?
A. Yes, yes, and yes! Under-mounted sinks are becoming a popular choice with homeowners due to their seamless look and ease of clean up. We'll ensure proper installation and sealing to prevent leakage and make sure your sink is well supported.

Q. Can I purchase my sinks and faucets through J&C Stonecutters?
A. You sure can! In fact, we recommend it to ensure it fits exactly as it should. We carry a wide variety of sinks and faucets from Bristol and Kohler.

Q. What is templating? How does it work?
A. Once your cabinets are installed, we'll send one of our professional service technicians to your home to create a template for your countertops. They'll use a digital tool to take measurements of the cabinets to ensure a proper fit to both the cabinets and any adjoining walls. During this time, the technician will confirm all the details of your project (choice of stone, edge profile, thickness, seam placement) and answer any questions you may have.

Q. How thick will my quartz or granite countertops be?
A. Our HanStone Quartz comes in stone slabs that vary in thickness. Depending on the style you choose, the thickness ranges from 1/2" (1.2 cm) to 1 1/4" (3 cm). The granite we carry tends to be thicker at 1 1/4" (3 cm) or more.

Q. Will my granite or quartz be covered by warranty?
A. Our number one goal is to have happy, satisfied clients who wouldn't hesitate to recommend us to their friends and family. Generally, issues with stone are caught before or during installation. If there’s a problem at this stage, we'll make it right. Once installed, we provide a one-year warranty on our stone.

Our line of HanStone Quartz offers a Residential Lifetime Limited Warranty and a Commercial 10-Year Limited Warranty for North America. For more information on HanStone’s warranties, visit the warranties page on their website.

Q. What happens if I chip, scratch or stain my counters?
A. Although quartz and granite are incredibly durable, sometimes chips happen (they're more likely to chip on an edge rather than the middle of the surface). Marble is a porous stone so it’s not stain resistant. If you need a chip repaired or a stain removed, just give us a call and we'll be happy to see what we can do to fix it for you! We'll even repair stone counters that weren't purchased from us.

Q. How will I know when my granite needs resealing?
A. We recommend resealing granite on an annual basis; however, you can do a quick test to see how the seal is holding up. Simply leave a few drops of water on the surface. If the water beads, you still have a good seal. If, after a few minutes, the water is absorbed into the granite then it’s due for a reseal. Quartz surfaces do not require sealing.

Q. My marble counters need to be sealed/re-sealed. Does J&C Stone Cutters seal marble?
A. Yes we do. Even if you didn't purchase it from us, we're happy to help you seal your marble to keep it looking great.
